The First ever Ohio Embrace a Stream Grant was applied for and won by the Western Reserve Chapter of TU. This Grant was being used in conjunction with the Chestnut Ridge Chapter or TU to Buffer the effects of Acid Mine Drainage in the Youghiogheny River Watershed. Art Preiksa Treasurer and Jim Geary President visited the sites again on October 20th to collect water samples from Big Piney, Little Piney, and Glade Run above and below the Alkaline Sand additions to test for PH and dissolved metals as well as Macro-invertebrates above and below the sites where our chapter added the Alkaline Sand.
