Saturday, September 25th 9am-4pm at CRO!
**Kickoff to Steelhead Season at Chagrin River Outfitters** Presentations, seminars, fly tying, casting contest, free fly casting lessons, single hand switch rod and two handed casting demos. Prizes and giveaways including pair of Simms G3 waders!
9am Dan Pribanic will explore the history of Lake Erie steelhead Fishery form it's beginnings to present day and discuss the proper gear, equipment, time of year and places to target these wonderful gamefish in Lake Erie Tributaries from Ohio to New York.
10:30am Brett Mcrae will present "Rigging for Steelhead" This presentation will include the pro's secrets for rigging flies and equipment, explore prime river flows, water conditions, water temps, times of day and proper fish fighting and handling techniques.
12 noon: Matt Hynes will take the guess work out of switch rods and explain how these specialty rods are gaining a strong following among veterans and newcomers alike for both indicator fishing and swinging streamers. Matt will clarify rod, reel, and line options, casting techniques, sink tip lengths, fly choices and more.
1:30 PM Matching the hatch for lake erie steelhead. John Rochus will explain the variety of available food sources that steelhead feed on in our tributaries and how to effectively match them to catch more fish.
9:00am and 11:00am - single hand fly casting demonstration
10:00am and 12 noon - Spey and switch rod two handed casting demonstartions.
1:00 pm fly casting distance and accuracy competion for fun and prizes. Casting will be done with 7wt fly rod and floating wt forward fly line. Bring your own or one will be provided.
